HISTORIC VICTORY: MARIA Reclaims Crown After 26 Years Maria, Siquijor
September 15, 2023. A remarkable and historic moment unfolded as the
Municipality of Maria celebrated a victory 26 years in the making.
The crown
has returned to its rightful place, marking an extraordinary achievement for
the community. The triumphant win revives a legacy that has remained cherished
in the hearts of its residents. In 1997, Maris Agnes August Asok represented
Maria, Siquijor, in the prestigious Mutya ng Siquijor Pageant, which was then
known as Ms. Siquijor Tourism. The pageant has since evolved into the esteemed Siquijor Festival Queen
competition.
The dreams of the Maria
community were realized as a sweet victory finally arrived, echoing the legacy
that lives on. Miss Jessa Calapiz Guillena, the representative for Maria,
claimed the title of Miss Siquijor Tourism 2023. Her remarkable victory not
only embodies personal achievement but also symbolizes the resilience, pride,
and determination of the Maria community. It is a testament to the dedication
